Brisbane and the city cats

Had great couple days. Stayed night in Jemma's stylish flat in a funky area of Brisbane - cafes, theatres and bars. Nick joined us the next day and guided us via the city cat water taxi to South Bank which is colourful and lively and has a man made beach and pool on the bank, where people were enjoying the sun and swims. What a way to spend your lunch hour from work!
Brisbane has a mix of old and new: federation building with their wrought iron lacey balconies and verandas alongside shiny skyscrapers.

Visited the botanical gardens, then travelled to Ipswich to see another cousin, whom I haven't seen since he was 6! 40 years ago!

Off to the sunshine coast tomorrow - more lounging around. It's a tough life!
