Off on a catamaran again to Hamilton and Whitsunday Islands.
Hired a golf buggy to trundle around Hamilton, a well kept, forested island surrounded by turquoise seas and white sands. I had my first sighting of a koala, albeit in a keeper's arms. A languid teddy bear.
More well designed public lagoons beside Catseye beach, one with a waterfall that kids were having great fun in. Obviously lots of people about as its Easter.
On to Whitehaven beach, pure silicon sand, white and fine and clear sea to swim in. Tiny fishes with neon blue innards swimming beside you. A pity we had to wear ridiculous suits, but I'd rather that than be stung by lethal box jelly fish or irukandji. And it did have its up side: causing us much hilarity as you can see in further blog.
Disappointingly, the reef tours for snorkelling were all booked, so despite my finally finding my sea legs we didn't get the chance to see more coral and fish.
Back to a quieter Airlee. I guess lots of people have departed ready for the working week again. Although our neighbours in the apartments were still belting out music.
