Marlowe plane display of love

On Saturday night in Marlowe, we became aware of a noisy plane above, it looped and spun and dropped out of the sky with breath taking agility, finishing with a heart drawn in smoke, across which the pilot 'wrote' three dashes; morse code? I hope his loved one was watching!!

We had two lovely comments to us from walkers on the towpath as we sat in the bow in the sunshine with the papers this weekend:
"What a lovely way to spend an afternoon, I'm very envious."
And:
"I'd rather be doing what you're doing than live in that big house across there. "
Yes, we do pinch ourselves from time to time. There's not many people who can 'live' on a different bank of the Thames night after night, we are very lucky.

Pity I didn't capture the smoke heart

  1. What a breathtaking image you have taken of the church, bridge and the Thames at Marlowe. So glad you're enjoying this fine weather.Any opportunities for foraging? There must be lots of blackberries, sloes, and bullace along the banks, not to mention mushrooms this time of year....!

  2. Thanks Sally . You must give me lessons in foraging, the only thing on your list I would recognise are blackberries! What is bullace?

  3. A bullace is like a wild damson..grows on trees and is delicious...got them growing in a field behind our house within spitting distance of the M3..!

  4. Pete says to tell you he has foraged several steak and ale pies - annoyingly though he can't find them in the hedgerows!!
Will google bullace so I can recognise it. - it sounds lovely.
